The Advanced Equipment Systems Division (AES) is a focused group within the larger Air Liquide Electronics (ALE) organization that specializes in providing chemical and specialty gas management equipment solutions. Team members are chemical and mechanical engineers, electrical and controls engineers, programmers, manufacturing technicians and field service engineers. The core expertise of this team includes everything related to the delivery of process molecules: equipment design, material compatibility, safety requirements, component selection, controls design and integration, flow and pressure optimization, installation and start-up, and turnkey project management.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Air Liquide is looking for a Traveling Field Service Technician to service gas/chemical equipment at customer installations worldwide.

  • Working knowledge and skills to support a specific product line (specialty gas or chemical or slurry) and ability to perform the following based on that product line.

  • Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise

  • Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods

  • Maintain and install equipment where intermediate to advanced technical skills are required in hooking up, commissioning, testing, retrofitting, maintaining and troubleshooting chemical delivery equipment.

  • Install software and controls.

  • Collect data and perform analysis on equipment to diagnose maintenance problems.

  • Identifies technical problems and implements solutions within the scope of capability to fully understand and safely implement repairs. Refers more complex problems to appropriate people within the organization.

  • Works with customers both internal and external to identify issues and resolve them.

  • Completes tasks in a timely manner that results in minimal loss of time and money due to error for both the customer and AES.

  • For all work undertaken analyzes means of repair and ensures appropriate secondary planning to minimize any interruption to customer processes.

  • Understanding of and the ability to operate and install auxiliary equipment. Chemical/Slurry Systems: particle counters, flow meters, sampling systems, analytical equipment (assay, etc...), and system options as appropriate. Gas Systems: gas analyzers, flow meters, flow control valves, regulators,LSS.

  • Interactions involve solving problems that are often complex in scope and require individual judgment and technical capabilities as well as good customer relations skills.

  • Sensitivity to customer concerns and future business prospects.

  • Provide the Voice of the Customer to internal audiences and help the internal organization understand the needs and desires of our customers.

  • Assist in training customer personnel.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary to meet the needs of internal and external customers.

  • Works with a moderate degree of supervision

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 2+ years experience with relevant equipment and services

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics

  • Controls and controls technology including the ability to debug controls, software problems, and install software

  • Ability to use math and computer skills to analyze data

  • Knowledge of commonly used business software and technical software specific to our equipment

  • Ability to use appropriate hand or power tools and solid knowledge of appropriate work practices and safe work procedures

  • Ability to speak distinctly and see and hear clearly

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance

  • Ability to work in a clean-room environment

  • Ability to travel up to 100% both domestically and internationally

  • Ability to wear a respirator

  • Demonstrates strong work behaviors including organization, timeliness, dependability, and courtesy to others

  • Applies skills normally obtained through the completion of an Associate Degree in a technical discipline or the equivalent work experience from this or a related industry or from military service and technical training

The hourly rate range for this position in Texas is $25.00 to $28.00
