Job Description
Shift - Monday to Friday; 1st shift hours; OT as needed

What this job involves - The GMP Maintenance Mechanic will safely and effectively perform general, corrective, preventive and other types of maintenance of mechanical and other equipment at a large, multi-building biotechnology site devoted to the discovery, development, manufacture and delivery of innovative human therapeutics.

What is the day-to-day:
Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other mechanical systems.
Conducting routine inspections to identify potential problems and address them proactively.
Collaborating with the facility management team to develop maintenance plans and schedules.
Responding to urgent maintenance requests in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
Assisting in the coordination of repairs and upgrades with external contractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and equipment repair history.

Required qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in general building maintenance, with a focus on mechanical systems.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and other mechanical equipment.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with mechanical systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
Solid understanding of safety regulations and protocols.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred qualifications:
Trade school or certification in a relevant field (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and energy management systems (EMS).
Familiarity with sustainability practices and energy-efficient technologies.
