Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Test Engineer providing support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center/PEO Digital Directorate (AFLCMC/HB). The Air Force Program Execution Office for PEO Digital (AFPEO/HB) has the collective Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) mission responsibility to manage and execute the modernization, development, testing, production, fielding, and sustainment of the PEO Digital portfolio, which includes over 130 programs for the United States Air Force (USAF) and foreign allies. AFLCMC/PEO Digital Directorate is headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA with geographically separated operating units CONUS and OCONUS.

This position will support the Force Protection Technology Solutions. The Force Protection Division supports many different Air Force and Joint users. Program efforts range from site surveys and analyses of existing bases, installation or modification of security systems at bases, and technology development to support force protection efforts. New efforts are driven by security threats, budget, and available Force Protection Division resources. Programs within the Force Protection Division include Integrated Base Defense Security Systems (IBDSS), Fixed Site Security, Tactical Automated Security System (TASS), Modeling and Simulation, and Advanced Technology.

This is a full time position located at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA.

Responsibilities

In this position you will provide Test Engineer support Technology Integrated Management System (TIMS) to the provide the Air Force, JIDO, PSEAG and other military and government customers with a capabilities-based process to inform future investment decisions, guide Science & Technology, focus Studies & Analysis and deliver capabilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

    Documenting the review, test concept development, test methodology development, test plan development, test execution, and test reporting, data reduction and analysis, and end-user operational testing
  • Using design of experiments methods to plan and conduct test programs
  • Independently prepare (or advise others in the preparation of) criteria, computation/analyses, specifications, cost estimates test plans, and technical reports in the specific area of technical expertise
  • Select and apply engineering techniques and procedures to analyze and evaluate specific problem, data, or other features of the work which are broad in scope and complexity
  • Review and evaluate the quantity, quality, and overall adequacy of results and conclusions drawn from accomplishment of test engineering tasks
  • Devise new and innovative approaches to problems encountered, and accomplish assigned tasks with efficiency, timeliness, and thoroughness
  • Evaluate the configuration, capability, and operational relevance of test environments and ensure they are properly available for the thorough testing of software releases (e.g. fault insertion/fault identification)
  • Deconflict schedule conflicts between multiple releases, providing high quality analysis and recommendations to the program test lead
  • Operate with general instructions; but select portions of work are reviewed in detail to measure adequacy of approach, execution, and presentation
  • Provide T&E technical and engineering support by documenting the review, test concept development, test methodology development, test plan development, test execution, and test reporting, data reduction and analysis, and end-user operational testing

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Clearance: Must have an Active Secret Clearance

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in a professional engineering discipline and 12 years of experience, 5 of which must be in the DoD, OR

    • 15 years of directly related experience with 8 years of experience in a DoD setting
  • Experience with Agile methods, including testing methods for CI/CD, DevSecOps and DevOps
  • Experience with DoD Test and Processes
  • Understanding of cloud architectures and impacts to testing methods

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Master's or Doctorate Degree in a professional engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited educational program and 10 years experience, 5 years of which must be in the DoD

  • Degree from an ABET-accredited educational program
  • Test Manager's Course certification or course completion desired
