About the Role:
Contributes to development of communications strategies and implements communication plans in support of assigned brands. Manages and works with external public relations firm(s).Manages both internal and external communications, including media and crisis communications, and works with senior leaders for consistent messaging. Oversees the company's brand and corporate identity, aligning them with business goals._
Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):Supports brand strategies through execution of strategic communications initiatives for assigned therapeutic area(s); lead daily execution of communications activities
Manages Public Relations (PR) agency partner(s) to ensure activities (unbranded and branded) are in line with brand communications strategies, adhere to regulatory and legal guidelines and are completed on time and within budget
Collaborates with cross-functional teams on communications needs, ideas and activities
Recommends new creative ideas for communication initiatives
Develops news/press releases and other media materials to support campaigns, key data milestones, publications, and scientific presentations
Identifies and prepares appropriate internal and external spokespeople surrounding media outreach initiatives
Responds to media requests by working with internal stakeholders to ensure we are thoughtful and timely
Garners favorable press coverage within business, health, trade and consumer news publications
Builds and fosters trusting and collaborative partnerships with brand team(s), Corporate Affairs colleagues, Promotional Review Committee (PRC) members, and other internal stakeholders
Participates in recurring PRC meetings and discuss and address committee feedback
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree, preferably in English, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or related field and 8+ years of communications experience working in-house or within an agency as part of a team that supported corporate/product communications. In-house experience in the life sciences industry preferred. Experience in product communications or marketing preferred
Some managerial / functional management or lead experience preferred OR
Masters degree in related field or MBA preferred and 6+ years of similar experience noted above
Strong business acumen
Exhibits team building and leadership capabilities
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with peers, management, and leadership both within and outside the company
Understands importance of employee engagement and culture building
Exhibits advanced writing skills
Ability to understand and translate complex scientific content into clear, concise takeaways/messaging
Proven media relations skills
Knowledge and ability to manage crisis preferred
Public relations expertise in one of following areas: media relations, product communications or product marketing experience preferred
Ability to develop social and digital engagement techniques with expertise across a variety of digital communications channels
Creative thinker with ability to develop actionable programs
Must be initiative-taking, detail-oriented, decisive
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $142,700.00-$206,975.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
