Position Summary:

The Material Planner Level 2, with guidance and direction from the Planning Analyst, releases work orders in alignment with the build plan. Works with Production leads to ensure work orders are being executed on time per schedule.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Compiles and records production data from such documents as customer orders, work orders, product specifications, and individual worker production sheets
  • Plans and follows schedules of workflow and operations according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • Clearing difficulties that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
  • Initiates component and assembly work orders with guidance from the Planning Analyst.
  • Creates re-work orders as needed to support MRB activities.
  • Reviews material availability and works with Purchasing when needed to expedite material. Ensures material is in stock for work order.
  • Tracks work order shortages and alerts Stores to fill them once available.
  • Sorts and distributes work orders or material to workers and/or production supervisors.
  • Reviews and responds MRP/ERP system production control messages.
  • Validates internal and external operation lead times against current standards; communicates to Planning Analyst when corrections need to be made.
  • Coordinates planning prioritization and any issues with Planning Analyst.
  • Responsible for capacity review for assigned product line to include troubleshooting parameter challenges (lead times/lot sizes)
  • Participates with daily production meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Experience with ERP/MRP Systems (Oracle, JDE, SAP, Infor/Syteline)
  • Prior experience in production planning
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Required Experience:

  • MS Office suite experience
  • Proficiency with MS Excel
  • 3-5 years of prior experience as a Production Planner
  • Must have experience with releasing work orders in MRP/ERP systems
  • Aerospace industry experience preferred

Level of Education:

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Two-year degree from college or technical school or 2-5 years of experience in production planning
  • APICS CPIM coursework or certification a plus

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $23.25 to $34.75 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
