Job Description

Torch Technologies, a 100% Employee-owned company, is seeking a talented One Semi-Automated Forces (OneSAF) developerwith experience developing custom extensions and an in-depth understanding of constructive simulations. Necessary development skills include the ability toprocess human-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation information with reports, understanding of programming languages like Java and database experience.Java expertise is required for OneSAF development. Torch is seeking candidates with these qualities and experience that work well with a multidiscipline team.Candidate will workdirectly with customerssupportingthe Ground Vehicle System Center (GVSC).Candidate must be able to work in person daily at the Torch Michigan office located in Sterling Heights, MI. Candidate should be trustworthy, dependable, and self-motivated, eager to overcome challenges and solve problems.Previous experience working within a DoD environment is a plus, but not required.

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates will have direct experience with the following:

• Technical proficiency employing constructive simulation software (OneSAF) for simulation,integration, and modeling.

• Experience developing extensions for OneSAF.

• Proficient developingwith automation and generation of reports.

• Understanding of how to characterize behaviors from HIL simulations.

• Proficient in quantifying Measures of Performance and Measures of Effectiveness.

Qualified candidates will have an interest or experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Lab Streaming Layer (LSL) or Kafka-based data pipelines.

• Background and knowledge of Ground Vehicles systems and subsystems and how to develop constructive simulations.

• Working in high-performing/mission-oriented organizations reliant upon the implementation of modeling and simulation.

• How to quantify and analyze results from Human-in-the-loop simulations.

• Software development, architectures, frameworks, prototyping and design.

• Supporting the development or modification of US ARMY OneSAF software behaviors and/or entities as required for simulations supporting experimentation and technical integration events.

• Scripting languages like Python for searching datasets.

• Source control repositories such as Git and Gitlab.

• Education and Experience Requirements:

• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

• B.S or greater in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or technical discipline is required. Relevant graduate degrees will be given preference.

• 5+ years of experience.
