Description

NaphCare has an exceptional opportunity for a Medical Scheduler to join our team at Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Petersburg in Hopewell, VA. The Medical Scheduler will schedule all Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) requested appointments and secure all medical records for those appointments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong working knowledge of medical terminology and medical records while possessing strong verbal and written communication skills.

Performance Expectations:

  • Utilize healthcare experience to:
    • Assist with reviewing medical records and authorization scenarios in support of NaphCare's clients and patients.
    • Schedule and verify appointments.
    • Assist with maintaining a calendar and utilizing technology to maximize efficiencies of the scheduling process
  • Demonstrate skills in accuracy and multitasking with a a strong attention to detail and a commitment to customer service throughout the scheduling process.
  • Demonstrate a high comfort level in working with large volumes of data.
  • Maintain confidentiality when managing medical records, patient data, and NaphCare processes.
  • Additional duties and specific projects as assigned.

Performance Requirements:

  • High School diploma or higher.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience scheduling appointments and/or procedures in a multi-specialty clinic, provider's office or hospital setting.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines is critical in this role.
  • Strong working knowledge of medical terminology while possessing strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
