The Quality Specialist has the role of deploying and facilitating the quality culture in GPG (Global Product Group) Power Protection, Electrification Smart Power (ELSP), ensuring and controlling quality to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations and representing the customer's voice within local teams, providing customer experience feedback and input. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the deployment of the quality strategy for a local organizational unit, including quality culture, systems, tools, and competent teams with the aim to achieve and exceed customer expectations, while ensuring sustainable operations. You will assist the organization in achieving the right mix of prevention, continuous improvement, robust root cause analysis, quick response and sustainable solutions to problems. You will also collaborate with local functions that impact the quality results to reach the targets for the organizational unit and aim for world class performance.

Your responsibilities

  • Supports the deployment of strategy and objectives for quality management within local ABB organizational unit
  • Collaborates with management within local ABB unit to innovatively shape the design and development of their functional area
  • Supports the management with respect to quality management related content, tools and systems
  • Supports specific communication relevant to quality management in their own area of responsibility
  • Supports local organization by providing specific training material and training sessions
  • Assists in continuously identifying and addressing risks and opportunities related to quality management in the local organization
  • Performs audits to assess compliance with the defined system; Uses quality data analytics from the organization to identify risks, failures and non conformances
  • Promotes the vision for zero defects and supports the local teams to ensure that requirements from ABB, customers, and stakeholders are fulfilled, focusing on prevention rather than only control
  • Acts as a local process owner for defined quality related processes, systems or tools, including defining and documenting plans, implementing and communicating actions, supervising and controlling progress, and
  • driving continuous process improvement
  • Performs and/or coordinates activities related to designated areas within Quality, including customer and claims management, manufacturing quality, quality planning, product safety and compliance, design and
  • development quality, and audits and reporting
  • Promotes the voice of the customer at the local unit and assists that risks, problems, and solutions are evaluated from a customer/stakeholder point of view
  • Supports resolution of customer cases by following a robust root cause analysis and implementing preventive and corrective actions
  • Supports and maintains the quality management system of local unit, in collaboration with local functions, including processes and tools to ensure flawless and repeatable process execution, identifying gaps, and
  • exploring opportunities for improvement; Utilizes local quality management system to provide the local teams with procedures that enable sustainable execution
  • Leads the local teams in implementing an operational approach and process management system, continuously evaluating its effectiveness
  • Supports the local organization by creating training material and delivering trainings on quality management system related content
  • Coordinates and participates in benchmarking activities within the industry, inside and outside ABB, to continuously challenge the status quo and further develop the organizational self perception
Your background

  • Bachelor degree plus 2 years experience OR Associate/Technical degree plus 4 years experience OR HS diploma/GED plus 10 years of experience
