Summary

The Accounts Receivable Coordinator directs the overall administrative activities in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations to assure that proper administrative procedures, cost reimbursement principles and payment collections relating to business operations are maintained at all times. Provides input and analysis to the overall MFB SAR strategic and operational decision-making process as an integral part of the MFB SAR management team.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Prepares confidential reports, statistical and financial data.
  • Maintains an EMR for current residents with pertinent information in Vision including room number, admission date, admission number and family contact. Completes process for necessary Medicaid cards for current and past residents.
  • Maintains a log of funds received from social security and pension checks sent to the community. Maintains a copy of validation of these deposits and forwards a copy to the Home office.
  • Responsible for accounts receivable and collection activities in accordance with company policy and Federal and State standards and practices.
  • Provides information to patient/families as necessary, or refers to the appropriate department or agency.
  • Triple check all billing claims, match to managed care providers, trend reimbursement rates related to documentation
  • Financial month end close per THSC guidelines (2.5 days)
  • Assure Notice of Medicare Non-Coverage compliance with managed care partners
  • Process accounts payable, track contract status to pay in accordance with contracted rates and CMS consolidated billing
  • Post medical and ancillary charges to patient accounts
  • Participate in Care Conferences and discharge planning when finances are at issue
  • Medicare meeting, track utilization review status of insurance authorizations to ensure proper length of stay as authorized
  • Validate insurance verification post admission
  • Complete Census reconciliation daily
  • Facilitate and track RAC and ADR audits. Upload upon completion
  • Create and collect pre-payment of co-pays
  • Mail correspondence/checks to BOA lockbox
  • Scan documents into Vision
  • Attend monthly AR metric calls
  • Order Office Supplies

Customer Service Responsibilities

Essential Job Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years health care experience with exposure to billing, scheduling, and registration
  • Demonstrated experience and success with customer service principles
  • Proven excellence in organizational, communication and problem solving skills
  • Experience with computers and application software
  • Information management skills to communicate, explain, interpret, and present data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite Software
