Echelon is looking for a Technical Illustrator to produce highly detailed images to show how things look or work for textbooks, brochures, instructional manuals, training materials, and technical websites. The technical illustrator will present technical, scientific, or medical information that makes it clearer or easier for people to understand.

Responsibilities:

• Creates, lays out, and draws technical illustrations for reproduction in reference works.
• Prepares drawings from blueprints, designs, mockups, photo prints, and other sources by methods and techniques suited to specified reproduction process or final use, such as blueprint, photo-offset, and projection transparencies, using drafting, optical equipment, and digital computer formats.
• Participates in all aspects of the product development life cycle from Illustration to delivery.
• Works closely with the Team Lead to deliver high quality outputs in line with set productivity.
• Develop technical artwork and graphics such as block diagrams.
• Research, design, and create various decals, header/slide cards.
• Assist in hardware product documentation processes in a highly dynamic R&D environment.
• Work closely with engineering product development teams to create text, graphics and other components required to produce technical manuals and decals.
• Work with product safety staff in maintaining the lowest level of liability in what is presented to the customer.
• Create and edit effective technical illustrations by use of the engineering CAD system(s)
• Prepare written copy for Technical Manuals to meet contract requirements.
• Develop repair parts lists and illustrations using bills of material and engineering drawings.
• Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize work.
• US Citizen and ability to obtain a security clearance as needed.
  

Qualifications:

• 10 years' experience
• Must demonstrate an extensive understanding of technical illustration practices and concepts.
• Experience with technical publications
• Illustration work with commercial manual development or graphic illustrations
• Proven ability to organize projects and work independently.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Familiar with 3D CAD and visual production pipeline
• Demonstrated proficiency with industry-standard design software, including the Adobe Creative Suite Microsoft Office applications.
