We are recruiting for a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Managerto join a reputable and stable company in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and other financial data to support strategic decision-making and operational planning.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals to facilitate audits, reviews, and tax filings.
  • Lead and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and executive leadership, to drive process improvements and optimize financial performance.
  • Stay current on changes to accounting standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and inform strategic initiatives.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as assigned by senior management.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of effectively managing and developing accounting teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
