* To handle all business functions in assigned area which may include reception, scheduling and registering patients for appointments and/or procedures
* Greets patients; secures the appropriate patient and insurance information; ensures that registration data is correct and accurate; validates insurance eligibility, enters information into appropriate systems; collects co-pay (if applicable); and informs patient of provider delays
* Provides quality customer services to patient of all ages, their families, visitors, medical staff, clinicians and co-workers ensuring that everyone is treated courteously, quickly and with respect

- Level and type of experience REQUIRED:
* Previous experience with personal computers, Microsoft Office software and navigating the Internet Previous experience keyboarding with the ability to type 40 words per minute
- Level and type of experience PREFERRED:
* One (1) year of patient appointment scheduling & registration; working with medical insurance (HMO, managed care, private carriers) using medical terminology; and/or coding (HCPCA, ICD-9/10, CPT)
- Education/training REQUIRED (Note: work experience may be considered in lieu of credentials not required by law with HR approval; Eight years for undergraduate degree; Twelve years for Graduate degree Work experience must be specific to role):
* High School Diploma or equivalent
- Education/training PREFERRED:
- Post high school education in healthcare or business related coursework Describe independent action(s) required:
