Position Overview

Riverside Research is looking for a Senior Payroll Accountant who will process company payroll and all related activities. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, in this position, you will be the primary administrator for all activities related to the payroll function and ensure the accuracy of data and the effectiveness and efficiency of payroll procedures and internal controls.

Responsibilities

- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll including semimonthly and weekly payroll.
- Process weekly and semimonthly timesheets via Deltek.
- Process PTO and Holiday leave and reconcile.
- Process adjustments and other requests from the HR and/or Benefits teams.

- Facilitate and resolve tax issues with UKG and Accounting Manager.

- Process year-end forms and reconcile against quarterly 941 returns.
- Perform duties that require an understanding of Riverside's payroll policies and procedures and collaborate on cross-functional projects.
- Assist with the development of payroll policies, payroll calendars, payroll checklists, process maps and other procedural documentation.
- Act as the primary resource for employee payroll related processes and questions, including calculation of wages, deductions (including taxes), PTO, and other related inquiries.
- Work with the Accounting Manager and/or the Controller to reconcile accrued payroll or other payroll liability accounts.
- Other duties as assigned.

This position is 4 days in the office.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

- A minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 3 years' experience using Deltek Time & Expense and Costpoint 8.1
- Minimum of 5 years' experience using payroll applications such as ADP, UKG, or Work Day
- Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills to manage uploads and files
- Exhibit critical thinking and analytical skills
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think through complex problems, determine proper processes, derive accounting conclusions, and present results to the Accounting Manager and/or Controller
- Able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage projects/tasks in a fast-paced environment

    Strong oral and written communication skills
  1. UKG Payroll Pro experience
  2. Ability to quickly adapt to company policies and processes.
  3. Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, Internal Controls, Cost Accounting Standards and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
Global Comp
$80,000 to $120,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
