Vice President - Federal Civilian BU. This position requires residence within the greater DC area, while this position is primarily Remote it will require weekly/periodic in office attendance as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Vice President is responsible for the go-forward vision and execution of the Federal Civilian business unit. The leader must be growth-focused and develop a strategy to scale the business in the Federal Civilian market. The VP will develop deep relationships in working with our customers and grow our business through these relationships. They will also develop deep working relationships with other vendor partners to expand our presence in the market through these relationships. They will seek out new opportunities that fit Ad Hoc's core capabilities, and will lead efforts to capture those opportunities, and build a team that can scale these efforts. The VP must also be a people leader and mentor that employs a strategic vision to effectively manage their department to deliver against organizational goals. You will serve as the primary leader and decision maker for the Federal Civilian Business Unit, responsible for achieving profit and loss, delivery, and growth goals. A Vice President is expected to effectively communicate and execute against organizational objectives, and serves as a champion for organizational policies and procedures. The Vice President must exhibit strong leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to lead through others to deliver against organizational and financial objectives. Primary expectations of a Vice President include:

  • Devises and communicates strategic plans to drive business growth and profitability for the business area/ department
  • Develops and executes strategies to drive business growth and profitability for business areas
  • Responsible for the growth pipeline for the business area; delivering against revenue forecasts
  • Ability to articulate goals and execute to meet defined objectives; requiring collaboration and negotiation skills to drive consensus
  • Responsible for stakeholder engagement and management to meet delivery obligations, while driving on-contract growth
  • Accountable for budgeting, profit and loss, and overall business operations of the department
  • Leads individual and team meetings and communicates important updates within the business area and from the company
  • Prepares and presents regular reporting updates on the status and health of the business area/department to C-suite leadership
  • Responsible for performance management for direct reports to include goal setting, regular check-ins, career development, and annual evaluations
  • Serves as a primary node of communication, representing and explaining corporate objectives, policies, and processes
  • Champions change management activities to promote efficiencies and organizational growth
  • Responsible for collaborating with finance to analyze and manage budgets; having the autonomy to make decisions that are in the best interest of the business
  • Represents the business area/department in corporate level working groups
  • Drives operational, systematic, and policy efficiencies, ensuring business practices scale with growth of business area
  • Creates and maintains cross-departmental relationships to enable leadership and organizational success while promoting an inclusive and positive work environment
  • Maximizes operating potential of the business area to exceed internal and external stakeholder expectations and company goals while ensuring compliance with government regulations


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's and 15+ years of experience
  • A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred
  • Broad executive experience including business development expertise, capture and proposal leadership, financial acumen, BD operations, and full P&L leadership
  • Experienced managing a multi-million dollar profit and loss of portfolios or programs
  • Prior experience in business development and capture activities within the federal market industry
  • Experience leading digital services teams and an understanding of how to deliver modern digital services outcomes in a government setting
  • Deep knowledge of at least one Federal Civilian agency and broad knowledge of the Federal Civilian market
  • Prior experience with subcontractor negotiations and management
  • Extensive experience leading a team of Project and Program Managers and other senior program and portfolio leaders
  • Extensive experience with strategic planning, programming, budgeting, and resourcing
  • Extensive experience with government contracting


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the State & Local government market
