Job Description
The Operations Administrator assists the Administrator of Radiology with the day-to-day operation of the Department of Radiology to include strategic planning; legal and regulatory compliance; financial management; research management; relationship development; operations; and human resources management (to include physician recruitment). Ensures compliance with VCU and VCUHS policies and procedures. This job works directly with Radiology faculty and staff to resolve problems, workflow issues, customer service issues, human resource issues and to implement new initiatives, policies, programs, etc. This job insures the highest level of operational excellence while ensuring safe, efficient, high quality and cost effective care. This job manages, oversees, maintains and improves business functions and processes related to his/her areas of responsibility as well as a strong collaboration with other Health System business leaders. This position may act in place of the Administrator of Radiology in her absence.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Not applicable Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: Not applicable Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of five (5) years work experience of progressively more responsibility in a management position with financial and supervisory responsibility, preferably in healthcare. Experience with Microsoft software, to include spreadsheets and databases. Experience with business analytics, to include the ability to retrieve and present data that would support business decisions Experience PREFERRED: Seven (7) years of progressively more responsible supervisory/management positions. Previous work experience in an academic medical center environment Previous work experience in developing and implementing new initiative and programs and in process improvement activities Education/training REQUIRED: Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or closely related field. Education/training PREFERRED: Master Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration or closely related field. Independent action(s) required: All day-to-day operational functions of the Department of Radiology are handled independently. Advice and guidance sought from Administrator on an as needed situational basis and when there is a major impact on the operational efficiency of the department. Approval of staff evaluations at the "Exceeds" level and below. Ratings of "Exceptional" and "Does Not Meet" will be forwarded to Administrator and MCVP Executive Director for review/signature. Must be able to use financial, Human Resources, University and Health System resources to make independent decisions and determine actions necessary to achieve the goals of the Department. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): Direct management of administrative staff as assigned by Administrator which may include Digital Mkt Spec, Admin Assistants, Research Staff, and Baird Vascular Institute Manager. In addition, chain of command oversight of all manager/associate administrator subordinates. Additional position requirements: Must be available as needed to faculty and staff on all shifts, locations, etc. Age Specific groups served: N/A Physical Requirements (includes use of assistance devices as appropriate): Physical: Lifting 20-50 lbs. Oversee divisions of colon and rectal surgery and surgical oncology as well as the OR operations for the department of surgery
