Job Description
Our client builds LIDAR sensors that deliver superior imaging at a dramatically lower price. Their advanced sensors are used in autonomous cars, drones and many other applications.

They are looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Close Management:

    • Execute the monthly accounting close process, which involves preparing journal entries, analyzing fluctuations, and generating meaningful financial reports.
    • Take ownership of the Procure-to-Payment process, including three-way matching, invoice coding, vendor communication, and resolution of payment discrepancies.
  2. Accounts Payable Operations:

    • Process diverse accounts payable transactions, such as vendor invoices, recurring payments, and manual check requests, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  3. Accounting Principles and Communication:

    • Demonstrate a solid understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Effectively communicate accounting principles to colleagues and business partners.
  4. Process Improvement:

    • Evaluate existing procedures and recommend enhancements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  5. Audit Support and Controls:

    • Collaborate with external auditors during audit processes.
    • Identify and implement improvements to address any identified inefficiencies.
  6. Internal Controls and Compliance:

    • Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring alignment with U.S. GAAP.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience:2-3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience.
  • Knowledge:Proficiency in U.S. GAAP.
  • Technical Skills:Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Communication:Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Software Experience:Familiarity with NetSuite and other advanced accounting software solutions (Stampli, Concur, Workiva).
  • Industry Exposure:Experience in a technology or high-growth company operating within a SOX environment.
This position is in San Francisco 3X per week.

COMPENSATION:
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $105K - $130K + strong RSUs. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
