The Bioinformatics Analyst will take on responsibilities for providing broad bioinformatics support for genetics projects, manipulating and representing large-scale phenotypic and genotypic data to support the analysis and presentation of results. Primary responsibilities will be to provide programming expertise to support the spectrum of Genetic Medicine research, including the development and application of bio bioinformatics algorithms to aid in the discovery activities of the Genetic Medicine team and its development activities. The position is responsible for the installation and configuration of analytical software packages; performs some programming and scripting to develop software; and assists with data management and transformations. Familiarity with biostatistics, molecular biology, human genetics, the principles of experimental design, and laboratory experience and highly desirable. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as are the abilities to work both independently and collaboratively and to meet deadlines.
The Zhang Lab is hiring a bioinformatics analyst to delve into high-throughput omics datasets including genomics, proteomics and metabolomics. The role aims to unravel the mechanisms underlying immunotherapy's action, identify biomarkers, and pinpoint actionable drug targets in pediatric cancers with a primary focus on pediatric brain tumors. We integrate next-gen sequencing and state-of-the-art mass spectrometry data to uncover tumor-specific neoantigens for brain tumor immunotherapies. Ideal candidates will have expertise in bioinformatics, genomics and proteomics, holding a master's degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics or related fields. Candidates are able to develop bioinformatics algorithms or computational tools for single-cell or spatial multi-omics data analytics (e.g., single-cell RNA-seq, 10X Visium, LC-MS/MS). Proficiency in developing R packages or Python scripts is anticipated, alongside strong communication and collaboration skills within the team.
