Job Description

General Summary Duties include but are not limited to: Coordinate and expedite flow of material according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities, and complies and maintains records. Reviews production schedules and related information and confers with department leaders to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material. Work closely with the 3PL partner for effective and timely material movements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Requisitions material and establishes sequential delivery dates to departments, according to job order priorities and material availability.

* Examines material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications.

* Arranges in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules.

* Computes amount of material required to complete job orders, applying knowledge of product and manufacturing processes.

* Compiles and maintains records, such as material inventory, in-process production reports, and status and location of materials.

* Order Ingredients Materials to support production schedule. Ingredient Purchase Orders are placed per Vendor and by forecast within lead time requirements of each Vendor.

* Confirm each Purchase Order that goes out to the 3PL is received properly and inventory transferred via MIGO for the transfer to the plant for use

* Review inventory of materials when there is a daily and as production schedules change to determine the need to reduce or add to inventory and make the appropriate revisions or place new orders as needed

* Reconcile inventory to invoices/production reports and receive inventory into SAP

* Performs month-end closing by completing all necessary processes in SAP, reconciling inventories at plant and 3PL

* Direct and Create Outbound shipments to Vendors and Customers as needed

* Afterhours availability to resolve material issues and/or schedule changes for the plant


Qualifications Preferred Candidate Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

* High School education or equivalent

* Minimum 3 years logistics experience, preferably in the food/beverage industry

* Experience in procurement, production planning, and logistics planning

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Proficiency in MS Office applications and basic PC skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills within all levels of the organization * Proven decision making ability

* Ability to prioritize and multitask

* Prior experience working with SAP

* Flexibility - hours needed may vary based on production needs and material availability

Working Conditions

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a general office environment where the noise level is usually moderate.
