Horizon Industries Limited (Horizon) is a dynamic IT and Management Consulting firm based in the Washington, DC area and we are currently seeking a Configuration Management Analyst for a full-time position remotely supporting the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).

Summary of requirements:

  • 5 years relevant IT experience
  • PMP or CMII Certification
  • ITIL V3 or higher
  • IT II Background Investigation, NACLC

Position Description:

We are looking for a Configuration Management Analyst who will serve as the primary CMA for a multi-functional IT project team performing the five configuration management functions including Planning and Identification, Version Control and Baselines, Change Control, Configuration Status Accounting, and Configuration Audits and Review. Duties Include:

  • Create and sustain Change and Configuration Management plans and processes for a project team migrating systems, applications and databases to MS Azure development and production environments.
  • Identify and accomplish critical tasks, performing analysis of functional and technically complex Change and Configuration Management issues and development of IT solutions
  • Support Change Management that addresses system and application version control through the development lifecycle to delivery.
  • Manage meetings, track suspense dates for action items and prepare and deliver status briefings to client and corporate management
  • Provide analysis and evaluation of the client's Change and Configuration Management strategies, policies, and processes to guide project team's compliance
  • Assist the client prepare for the Configuration Control Boards and Working Groups
  • Develop plans, metric reports, templates and checklists for Configuration Management compliance and continuous process improvement
  • Create Change and Configuration Management training materials and conduct Change and Configuration Management training for the project team.
  • Guide the project team in recommendations and alternatives for best practices concerning new technologies that affect Change and Configuration Managements processes and policy
  • Identify, define, and control all relevant configuration items of the product.
  • Control modifications of all configuration items.
  • Record and report the status of configuration item and modification requests.
  • Ensure the completeness of the configuration items.
  • Control storage, handling, release, and delivery of the configuration items.
  • Establish and control product attributes and the technical baseline across the total system lifecycle.
  • Identify, document, audit, and control the functional and physical characteristics of the system design; track any changes; provide an audit trail of program design decisions and design modifications.
  • Provide review and support of Configuration Control Working Group (CCWG) activities and processes

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Five (5) years relevant experience
    • Demonstrated experience and ability to create and sustain Change and Configuration Management policies and processes in the Dept of Defense and documenting them in a Configuration Management Plan..
    • Technical skill in assessing IT services and support for CM best practices
    • Proficiency Microsoft Professional Office Suite, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project, Teams and Visio
    • Proficiency with ServiceNow and DevSecOps
    • Experience in supporting or working in a 100% remote working environment
  • Must hold a current certificate in Configuration Management (CMII certification or equivalent, PMP would also meet this requirement)
  • Must possess an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) version 3 (V3) certification (Foundation) or higher and specific knowledge and experience with the ITIL framework
  • Must have knowledge and experience working with:

Program Overview:

The JETS Program provides the full range of IT services, technical and management expertise that support applications, software, hardware, infrastructure, and systems, across the DLA IT Enterprise. Support is provided for information technology solutions, technical support, maintenance, and sustainment; operations support; application development, maintenance, and technical support; and lifecycle management. Additionally, the program also supports administrative program management support for IT program offices and DLA Information Operations (J6) Office. The program provides support technology services across the DLA Information Operations Enterprise, the DLA Program Executive Offices (PEO), and all other technology services currently supported through DLA Contracting Services Office (DCSO) acquisitions.
