General Information:

James Madison University's Facilities Management is accepting applications for a Plumber Steamfitter Sr. to perform Master level technical tasks in plumbing, gas, fire sprinkler and steamfitting trades. The successful candidate will have the option of working 8 hour shifts Monday through Friday or 10 hour shifts, 4 days a week. This position requires participation in an on-call rotation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Participate as a member of a team providing plumbing, steam and other trade services to complete assigned projects
-Service, maintain, inspect and repair plumbing, steam, fire sprinkler, food service, heating and other equipment
-Install plumbing, steam, or other equipment. Installation may include design and/or specification elements
-Records and provides information as requested

Qualifications:

Required:
-Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with commercial, institutional and residential plumbing, heating, steam equipment, fire sprinklers, food service equipment, welding, soldering and plumbing code.
-Master level plumbing/ steamfitting skills as they apply to a wide variety of equipment.
-Demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions and work with a diverse group of people.
-Master plumber certification required within two years of hire into the position.
-Backflow certification required within two years of hire into the position.
-A valid driver's license.

Conditions of Employment:

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check and an acceptable MVR.
