The Senior Reliability Engineer is responsible for maintenance and reliability efforts, including budgets, safety, and employee development.

How You Will Impact Ingevity

  • Participate in accidents investigations
  • Follow-up on all safety suggestions with feedback to employees
  • Conduct weekly inspections of the workplace to identify, evaluate and control workplace hazards
  • Provide day-to-day reliability engineering services in support of plant equipment breakdowns, diagnosing failure modes and prescribing repair procedures.
  • Manage and ensure compliance with the Mechanical Integrity Program.
  • Provide ongoing support and continuous improvement to the maintenance management system database by entering/updating equipment data and by developing/entering/updating preventive maintenance procedures for plant equipment.
  • Utilize RCM (reliability centered maintenance) methodology for plant equipment and process; such as RCA, Asset Maintenance Strategy, Unplanned Downtime Tracking, etc.
  • Provide ongoing support technical support for the Predictive Maintenance program; including and future enhancements to the vibration analysis, infrared thermography and lubrication management efforts.
  • Provide maintenance project management leadership including development of maintenance related cost improvement efforts; also provide maintenance technical support on plant capital projects.
  • Provide technical support for shop repair of major plant equipment and field inspection of new equipment fabrication.
  • Manage maintenance resources or contractors during outages or project implementation.
  • Continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOP's) for maintenance, including procedures for equipment documentation.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance planning and scheduling functions.
  • Improve equipment bill of materials
  • Document equipment work order history
  • Develop task list to provide improved and consistent work plans
  • Develop and coordinate outage related work scopes and projects
  • Participate in daily and weekly maintenance scheduling meetings.
  • Support emergency and break-in work as required

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience in industrial maintenance or production preferred
  • Proficient in SAP or computerized maintenance background preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work with third party contractors
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook...)

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting at a desk for 8 hours
  • Standing for 12-16 hours
  • Climbing stairs and ladders
  • Walking for 2-8 hours per day

Work environment

  • Office setting, outdoors manufacturing plant setting, hazardous chemicals environment
