The Compliance Governance Program Manager shall be responsible for owning and driving the development, execution, and assurance of the assigned areas of Compliance Management System (CMS) which includes Reporting & Analysis, Third Party Management, Issue Management, and Policy and Procedure oversight.

This role includes technology transformation with the opportunity to identify automation and process enhancement through internal or external solutions to manual procedures, routines, and reporting required to support the CMS and to demonstrate its effectiveness. The role will also include assessment of the functions of the CMS for existing programs and identifying opportunities to expand the CMS. Candidates must have a strong background in the banking regulatory environment, banking operations, bank products and services as well as identifying and implementing technology solutions and automation to assess and advance the Assurance Program.

Position Accountabilities

  • Identify and implement technology solutions and process enhancements for elements of the CMS
  • Take ownership over refining CMS elements to streamline the process to eliminate waste and achieve the goals of the program.
  • Create and present reporting for Senior Leadership within Compliance and within the First Line of Defense (1LOD) Leadership to demonstrate the effectiveness of the compliance program and areas that require additional attention.
  • Examine all KPIs and KRIs established for the program elements; challenge those KPIs and KRIs to ensure they support the program elements, determine the health of the program, or identify key risks.
  • Develop a focus on identifying key risks identified through the Compliance Program elements to elevate to Compliance Management
  • Partner with LOB Compliance Advisors and Horizontal Compliance programs to drive awareness on 1LOD performance on CMS related elements, including oversight, credible challenge and recommendations on risks and recommended improvements.
  • Drive consistent practices across the Compliance Department to ensure adherence to standard Governance practices.
  • Possess a strong knowledge of the regulatory requirements applicable to the CMS elements within the Bank and apply that knowledge to program elements of issue management, and other Assurance functions
  • Report results of Assurance reviews to management and Compliance LOB Advisors to coordinate and recommend strategies to improve performance.
  • Escalate and report any potential regulatory issues to the LOB Compliance Advisor, the Horizontal Advisor, and the Compliance Manager. Work with Compliance Manager to maintain, enforce, and strengthen Atlantic Union's Compliance Management Program Elements.
  • Collaborate across the Compliance department, Enterprise Risk, First Line to identify and develop automated solutions for CMS elements.
  • Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations governing bank operations, including compliance with Atlantic Union Bank's Compliance Program and associated policies and procedures.
  • Obtain necessary training to keep current on regulatory compliance and bank operations.
  • Assist Compliance leadership with coordination and preparation for Internal audits and Regulatory exams; working with auditors and examiners as needed.
  • Assist with addressing consumer complaints received from regulatory agencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

This position reports to the Compliance Assurance Manager

Position Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Five plus years' industry banking experience to include; lending, deposits, banking operations, and commercial based on assigned responsibilities
  • Experience with technology solutions in the banking industry, specifically Compliance solutions
  • Certification as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

  • Analytical skills, particularly with trending and reporting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state banking laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Compliance Management Programs and Regulatory Best Practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Well organized with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Flexible, able to adapt to change
  • Superior time management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Working knowledge of banking software program solutions, preferred

Salary offered will be based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This position is also eligible to participate in either an applicable incentive compensation plan for the position or a discretionary profit sharing bonus program.
