We are looking for a Research & Development Engineer II to help us actively manage, drive to completion, and perform key technical tasks in the R&D Technical Services functions for the approval of the expanding number of components, materials, and/or new suppliers that need to be approved through the First Article Process, which will assist in meeting the business needs of the Sourcing department, Continuous Improvement group, and the Supplier Quality group in this First Article approval role of Technical Services. This role is a key member of our Research & Development team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Put safety first - always.
  • Lead and foster our "people first" culture.
  • Assist in data collection, testing, and measurement, in the approval process for the expanding number of components, materials, and/or new suppliers that need First Article Approval in our system.
  • Creation and management of Supporting documentation such as Drawings, Specifications, and Test Requirement Documents, and in routing CCO's for these in the Document Control System. Manage the Supplier Drawings that are approved for First Article Process (along with the Trex version of those).
  • Support Cost Savings and Continuous Improvement initiatives for the function of First Article Approvals of the revisions of incoming materials.
  • Perform or analyze Tolerance Stackup design verifications for components and assemblies.
  • Support existing Tech Services staff to cover the ever-expanding code approval demands for International Markets.

EXPERIENCE

We are looking for leaders with a bachelor's degree in science or engineering and 2+ years of related professional experience. If you have previous experience with appropriate measurement techniques, engineering principles, and material properties for structural materials such as wood plastic composites, aluminum, and steel, we want to hear from you!
