Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Business Operations Coordinator

Position Status: Full-time, Day Shift

This is a hybrid position, 3 days in office (Norfolk, VA) and remainder remote. Wednesday is the team day everyone is in the office.

Position Location: Sentara Park, Norfolk, Virginia

Standard Working Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00PM (ET).

Position Summary:

Business Operations Coordinator - Managed Care Contracting

  • Provide administrative support for Managed Care Contracting departmental leadership and initiatives as applicable.

  • Support Managed Care Contracting staff in maintaining strong relationships with key third payor contacts on behalf of Sentara Health.

  • Manage the organization and filing of third party payer contracts - this includes managing paper and electronic filing systems.

  • In conjunction with other members of the Managed Care Contracting team, participate in the development, communication and implementation of financial and operational requirements of third party payer contracts.

  • Complete and process third party payer credentialing and re-credentialing applications for Sentara Health - this includes but is not limited to Sentara's hospitals, ASCs, and ancillary divisions.

  • Manage and update the department's specialized credentialing databases.

  • Exercise excellent communication and intrapersonal skills to coordinate the retrieval of accreditation, licensure and other pertinent supporting credentialing documentation across Sentara leadership teams, departments and entities.

  • Coordinate processes from various Sentara Health departments to meet the needs of prospective and currently assigned third party payors.

  • Assist with the resolution of Managed Care issues regarding registration, patient accounting, utilization and medical management.

  • Participate in managed care meetings between key payors and Sentara Healthcare department heads as needed and as applicable.

  • Spearhead other Managed Care Contracting initiatives and day-to-day activities as applicable.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Level Degree ( Bus Administration, Finance, Healthcare Management/Administration)
  • 2 years related experience
  • Organizational skills, detailed oriented and proficient experience level Microsoft office products
  • Strong administrative experience

Job Summary

Works alongside department leadership to provide consultation and education to division leaders and staff regarding policies, procedures, initiatives and programs related to the department's function and areas of responsibility. Participates in planning and implementation of department initiated programs, including support for ongoing monitoring. Designs and prepares moderate to complex reports and creates presentations in support of department operations or special projects utilizing available business tools such as Microsoft Office applications, report writers, databases, or proprietary and/or commercial information systems.
