Kearney & Company is currently seeking an experienced Associate to join our Washington, D.C. team. The Contract Closeout Associate position will be responsible for integrating with the project team to provide technical knowledge and understanding of general acquisition processes, including contract closeout administration. The Contract Closeout Specialist will also be responsible for assisting in performing closeout for various contract types, developing supporting closeout documentation packages, obtaining closeout approvals, and tracking closeout statistics. Responsibilities:

  • Ability to interface with clients on a day-to-day basis with excellent professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Develop quality work products that adhere to applicable regulations and customer requirements.
  • Demonstrate technical competency, knowledge, and professional care commensurate with completion of assignments, and an eagerness to learn and absorb new technical and industry-specific information.
  • Experience supporting general acquisition processes, including contract closeout.
  • Understanding of contract and invoice data to facilitate contract closeout and preparing supporting documentation.
  • Capability to prepare quality deliverables, track closeout statistics, and ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Adapt to changes in the work environment; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting, Economics, or Finance
  • Minimum 1 year of experience related to general acquisition and procurement processes (Government Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR))
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)

Preferred:

  • Other relevant-industry certifications such as CPA, CGFM, etc.
  • Previous experience executing contract closeouts for Federal agencies
