About the Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking a SAFe Release Train ENGINEER

Duties and Responsibilities:

    Facilitate ART planning events, including Program Increment (PI) Planning, where multiple Agile teams come together to plan and synchronize their work.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Product Owners, and stakeholders to prioritize features and establish PI objectives.
  • Ensure alignment of ART objectives with overall business strategy and customer needs.
  • Act as a servant leader and coach for Agile teams, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Facilitate ART ceremonies, including Scrum of Scrums, Inspect and Adapt (I&A) workshops, and System Demos, to promote transparency, feedback, and problem-solving.
  • Resolve impediments and dependencies that hinder the progress of the ART, working collaboratively with teams and stakeholders to address issues effectively.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the ART, leveraging metrics, feedback, and retrospectives to identify opportunities for enhancement.
  • Coach teams on Agile and SAFe principles, practices, and tools, promoting a learning mindset and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Implement and iterate on Agile engineering practices, DevOps principles, and Lean-Agile methodologies to optimize delivery efficiency and quality.
  • Communicate ART progress, dependencies, risks, and impediments to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with Release Management, Program Management, and other stakeholders to manage cross-ART dependencies and ensure successful delivery of integrated solutions.
  • Act as a bridge between business stakeholders, technical teams, and external partners, facilitating effective communication and alignment of priorities.
  • Drive the adoption of SAFe practices, principles, and frameworks across the organization, serving as a champion for Agile transformation.
  • Partner with Agile Coaches, Lean-Agile Leaders, and other RTEs to establish Agile Centers of Excellence (CoEs) and communities of practice, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Lead by example, embodying Agile values and principles, and inspiring teams to embrace change, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in Agile software development, with a focus on scaled Agile frameworks such as SAFe.

Required and Desired Skills/Certifications:

  • SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification or equivalent Agile certification (e.g., Certified Scrum Master, SAFe Agilist).

Additional Requirements:

  • Proven track record of leading Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and facilitating Program Increment (PI) Planning events.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and servant leadership skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and align diverse groups.
  • Deep understanding of Agile principles, Lean-Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices, with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Agile tools and frameworks (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Rally) and proficiency in Agile metrics and reporting.
