Altamira is recruiting for a challenging and rewarding position for a highly qualified and talented Human Resources Benefits Specialist, with deep knowledge and expertise in benefits and 401(k) management and compliance.
Altamira has an exceptional benefits program which is a significant workload for the department to maintain. The ideal candidate would be a team player with a keen attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
  • Responsible for overall administration and compliance for all benefit programs including, medical/dental/vision plans, LTD, STD, 401(k), wellness, etc.
  • Lead the administration of Altamira's 401(k) plan by monitoring and ensuring compliance with federal regulations, conducting discrimination testing, supporting the annual audit, completing compliance filings, and supporting employee questions and communications.
  • Primary contact for Benefit consultants and plan providers to ensure efficient administration of benefit plans.
  • Help to ensure that Altamira benefits remain competitive by assisting in the research, analysis, and recommendation of new benefit programs.
  • Maintain and administer the Benefits plans and processes within the HRIS.
  • Ensurecompliance with government regulations related to benefit programs including, but not limited to, ERISA, FMLA, and HIPAA. This includes required testing and audits and SOX compliance.
  • Support the HR team with over initiatives including, but not limited to, new hire orientation, onboarding, employee communications, employee requests and questions, and training.
  • Oversee the day-to-day administration of benefit changes and enrollments.
Required skills and qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or 10 years' relative experience.
  • 6+ years of progressive HR Benefits experience
  • Highly proficient in HRIS management, highly preferred ADP Workforce Now experience
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to effectively interact and communicate with individuals at all levels across the organization
  • Ability to partner closely and work effectively with internal support teams such as payroll, finance, recruiting, and security.
