Job Overview

The role of the Engineering Technician I (VIDS-Tech Services Dept) is to provide day-to-day support with practical experience, which includes laboratory testing, manufacturing, and or troubleshooting/maintenance. Preferred experience in multimedia and or audio/visual control and distribution systems. Shipboard Interior Communications Technician capable. This position reports directly to the acting Supervisor of the VIDS TECH SERVICES Group in Chesapeake, VA.

Work Model: Office Based


Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
  • Working with NIWC Atlantic and other technical codes, program/project managers, and SMEs, the Engineering Technician I will assist with the installation, planning, testing, and integration of complex audio visual displays, various communication and electronic warfare systems, related ancillary and computer based systems onboard naval ships and command centers worldwide.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:
  • Must have Associate's degree in C4ISR systems, Engineering Technology, or equivalent and (1) year of installation/integration experience, OR, have a High School diploma and three (3) years of practical experience, to include: laboratory testing, manufacturing, or maintenance.
  • Must be able to attain a Secret clearance.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 75% CONUS/OCONUS and work extended hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
