Job Description

MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance
  • Minimum of 5+ years of Linux/Unix system administration experience
    • CentOS 6/7
    • Red Hat Enterprise Release 6/7/8
  • Must currently hold a DoD 8570-compliant IAT II certification (SSCP or Security+ CE with appropriate CE/OS certificate) or be able to obtain within 6 months
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, VMware vSphere or Red Hat Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM)
  • Ability to automate tasks using scripting languages

DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with Ansible, Foreman, Bash
  • Familiarization with Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIGs/CS2) requirements
  • Knowledge of database administration (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle)

The Cryptologic Carry-on Program (CCOP), a full lifecycle systems provider, demonstrates NIWC's ability to rapidly respond to emerging threats. CCOP's family of systems are scalable to platform, reconfigurable to mission, modular (plug and play) and dynamically reprogrammable to support new threats. CCOP's wide range of capabilities include engineering support, software development, integration, testing, technical writing, Cybersecurity (administration, policy and engineering), production, technical support, warehousing, drafting, repair and management.

The Linux Integrator will be a member of the CCOP team focusing on integrating applications in a Linux based environment. Engineering will be performed on Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) and National Security Agency Network (NSANet) connected systems. The ideal candidate will have a history of direct involvement with successful Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS deployments and integration of NSA software and hardware products.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provisions RHEL and CentOS servers in both physical and virtual environments
  • Integrates a variety of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), government off-the-shelf (GOTS), and open source applications within existing RHEL and CentOS environments
  • Troubleshoots quickly and efficiently in Linux-based environments
  • Researches and recommends innovative and, where possible, automated approaches for system administration and integration tasks
