The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.


The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the Department of Defense (DoD). These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)), DARPA, the Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

We have a near-term need for a Nuclear Acquisition Analyst to provide onsite support out of the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

SPA is seeking an experienced Acquisition Program Analyst to support OSD oversight of Nuclear Triad sustainment and modernization, with a primary focus on providing acquisition expertise to cover programs such as Sentinel and LRSO in support of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (DASD) for Strategic, Space, and Intelligence Portfolio Management (SSIPM) in the Strategic Deterrence and Capabilities (SDC) Directorate. You will be responsible for development of decision-ready material for senior leaders and asked to apply the initiative to navigate headquarters and acquisition processes to support the DASD portfolio management responsibilities. The Nuclear Acquisition Analyst role will support portfolio management and oversight of systems through development, production, and fielding to the warfighter. The Analyst will also be responsible for assisting SDC with tracking the annual congressional budget cycle and capturing impacts to programs in the SDC portfolio, assisting with preparing senior leadership for congressional engagements, and supporting the office's strategic communications efforts.

Qualifications

Required:
* 5 years of experience with the Defense Acquisition System and DoD 5000 Series
* 5 years of experience with nuclear weapons and weapon systems at the programmatic or operational level
* Experience supporting a DoD Program Office
* Master's Degree
* Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility
* Willingness for occasional travel (may be required (less than 10%))

Desired:
* Experience as a DoD Program Manager/Deputy Program Manager
* Experience at the DoD or Service Headquarters Staff levels
* Understanding of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process and the budget cycle

* Understanding of Congress and congressional affairs
* Experience producing Strategic Communications products
* Experience supporting the Sentinel or LRSO programs
* Special Access Program eligibility
