Job Description
Description

This position, and the NWF International Program, focus on deforestation and conversion of vulnerable habitats around the world, which drive both the climate and biodiversity crises. • Plan, coordinate and help lead the engagement with multi-stakeholder groups, companies, and influential decision makers to help advance corporate deforestation commitments and their implementation. This will include coordinating the uptake of monitoring systems, traceability tools, reporting and verification protocols, and incentives for rural producers.
  • Support the Senior Director to manage the strategy, implementation and tracking of NWF's grant deliverables with regard to the relationships with representatives from government, meatpacking companies, producer associations, NGO partners and others, as appropriate.
  • Represent NWF in external meetings and events, including the Global Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (GRSB), and other platforms and events
  • Collaborate with team leadership to produce the required financial and progress reports and troubleshoot problems.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for our US, Brazilian and Paraguayan project team partner organizations, sub-grantees, and contractors to ensure grant goals are met on time and that work is prioritized accordingly.
  • Collaborate with Grant Manager to assure financial information is tracked with NWF's operations, legal, contracts, and finance departments to ensure timely coordination for financial reporting.
  • Participate as a thought-leader internally and externally, and support the Senior Director and Vice President with strategic decision-making processes with the team, including review and updating of the theory of change, as appropriate.
  • Speak to international audiences about indirect supplier traceability, challenges and concerns of meatpackers, and key international initiatives related to cattle deforestation (EU and US regulations, SBTi, Finance and other Demand-side efforts) - continually seek out informative materials and be motivated to grow professional skills, with the support and direction of the Senior Director.
