Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

What We're Looking For:

As the Senior Manager, Tax, you will lead a variety of domestic and international tax matters. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to manage and lead members of the tax team as well as work with and lead projects involving a variety of cross-functional teams. You'll report to the Vice President of Tax and will be responsible for a variety of US Federal, state and international tax matters, ASC 740, Sarbanes Oxley compliance as well as ad hoc special projects, corporate and partnership taxation and other items as appropriate. We are a small, hands-on, highly technical tax department looking for someone eager to develop their career as an integral member of our leadership team.

What You'll Do:

    Foster and develop highly effective members of the Tax team of through training, mentoring and coaching.
  • Mentor and train your team by performing regular check-ins, discussing career growth opportunities, giving constructive feedback, and managing conflict when necessary
  • Responsible for proactive tax planning to minimize global taxes and insourced and outsourced tax compliance engagements
  • Work extensively with cross functional teams, leveraging breadth of knowledge to make decisions
  • Lead technical research and planning in all areas of taxation including US Federal, state and international tax for corporations and partnerships
  • Manage relationships within the organization as well as with one or more joint ventures with a willingness to manage relationships with other investors in the joint venture
  • Present complex topics and results related to tax to your team and those outside of your immediate team
  • Lead cross-functional teams on a variety of tax and non-tax projects as well as manage outside relationships with service providers
  • Guide and teach junior members of the team to take on more responsibility
Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field
  • 10+ years of relevant tax experience
  • Strong federal and state corporate and partnership tax experience
  • ASC 740 experience for an SEC public company
  • Previous management experience
  • Capable of being a strong motivator and source of direction for your team and role modelling commitment to your team's goals
  • Have a people-oriented mentality and be able to build meaningful relationships with senior leadership on your team and in other departments
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues clearly and confidently, and recognize and adapt to different communication techniques
  • Be able to analyze and understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions, come up with and evaluate unique solutions, and see those solutions through to completion
  • Be independent and self-motivated and demonstrate a high degree of creativity, flexibility, and resourcefulness
  • Have a strong sense of urgency in driving projects to completion and be motivated to achieve outcomes and results
  • Can thrive in a dynamic environment and efficiently manage multiple or complex projects while continuously looking for new and enhanced ways of doing things

Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:

  • International tax experience strongly recommended
  • Public accounting experience and a CPA license
  • Experience using OneSource tax provision software

Work Environment:

This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
