Fairfax Marriott at Fair Oaks is looking for a Group & Catering Coordinator to join our great team and enjoy all the benefits of our exciting hotel environment! The Group & Catering Coordinator will support the entire hotel Sales Team. Their first priority is to support the Sales Team by working closely with the Director of Sales, Director of Catering, Sales Manager, Event Managers, and Sales Administrator. They will assist the Sales Team in the daily functions associated with groups & events contracted at the hotel. Additional tasks may be required of the Coordinator on a daily, weekly or monthly basis ranging from additional office coverage to special projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Fielding and qualifying incoming leads
  • Support the Catering & Sales Managers with any needs such as contract generation, lead support, banquet event order preparation, signage, group coversheets, proposals and any other assets needed to support sales & catering.
  • Answer the sales lead line and distribute leads to the appropriate sales managers.
  • Lead tracking and input lead details into the system; also manage online lead tools such as Cvent
  • Creating & Developing Social Media campaigns to post on the Marriott social platforms
  • Engagement with clients through phone calls, email and special requests and obtain final details, dates, times, and hotel room and meeting room requirements and follow up to ensure arraignments are complete
  • Coordinate outside vendor services needs where appropriate to enhance guest events
  • This position may also perform other duties as assigned (guest room tours, property tours, special guest requests, answering phones and routing to appropriate sales staff, handling of mail)
  • Responsible for the efficient and professional group coordination of any assigned banquet, meeting or reception

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Typing, filing, and general office skills.
  • Computer skills, to include Microsoft Office Suite of software.
  • Must have proven telephone skills.
  • Communicate and disseminate information accurately.
  • Very detail-oriented and organized, pleasant personality.
  • Must have neat and pleasant overall appearance.
  • Experience with hotel industry, event planning and management software a plus.
  • Previous experience supporting Hotel Sales Teams as is preferred.
