The Service Authority is currently recruiting for the following several temporary (summer) positions.

Position Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to operate small equipment such as lawn mowers and weed trimmers.
  • Ability to paint.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others as well as in a team environment.
  • Assists maintenance crews in the absence of personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned (i.e. wash trucks, clean shops, etc.)
  • Some experience in grounds and building maintenance and/or painting.
  • Possession of a valid Virginia driver's license with a satisfactory driving record according to the Service Authority policy.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • Physical demands: The work is regularly active with periods of heavy exertion. Position requires workers to walk or stand for long periods; may lift and carry up to 60 pounds; climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding; bend, kneel, crouch and crawl; reach, hold, grasp and turn objects; feel the size, shape and temperature of items; and operate computer or typewriter keyboards. The work requires the ability to speak clearly, to see and hear clearly with or without correction, and to detect odors.
  • Work environment: Primary work is performed in shop or field settings and outside. Employees are exposed to dirt and soil; unpleasant odors; working outside in hot and humid conditions, or in inclement weather; and to hazards in the work.


FIELD SERVICES ASSISTANT

Position Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:

  • Complete a variety of daily service orders utilizing a laptop and at times a meter reading handheld.
  • Perform leak investigation to aide customers in determining cause of high usage.
  • Identify any safety, maintenance or technical issues encountered while completing service orders and make the required repairs.
  • Ability to work without close supervision. Must have excellent computer skills, be detail oriented and have good communication skills.
  • Possession of a valid Virginia driver's license with a satisfactory driving record according to the Service Authority policy.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
