Job Description

The Sr. Human Resources Business Partner is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function within the Kratos SRE business unit. The Sr. Human Resources Business Partner will positively influence and impact the organization by building strong relationships and offer innovative solutions. This is a hands-on role, requiring skills in both tactical and strategic Human Resources. The Sr. Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for setting high standards of performance for themselves and others; be professional in both word and actions in any situation; seek new knowledge and experiences; have an analytical mindset that can utilize factual data to develop solutions; be self-aware and adjust accordingly to different environments.

Success in the position requires, a track record of excellent judgment, strategic thinking, influencing skills, and results orientation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel.
  • Plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the department.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and processes.
  • Implements and annually facilitates the performance management and compensation processes.
  • Reviews organizational unique job descriptions every two years and rewrites as necessary.
  • Conducts annual salary analysis, analyzes compensation for adverse impact and makes recommendations for adjustments as required.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook amendments on policies and procedures.
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Prepares annual reporting for EE0-1 and Vets 4212.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt, and temporary workers; works with hiring managers to screen and interview candidates; reviews and conducts reference checks; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-path program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews.
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as required.
  • Maintains organizational charts and employee directory.
  • Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Administer Intern/Co-op program and attend college recruiting events as needed.
  • Establishes relations with state and local colleges/universities and trade schools.

Required Experience:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
  • Ability to adhere to workplace rules.
  • Proficient use of MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • May require up to 25% travel to support technical meetings, design reviews, other reviews & meetings, and launch operations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bacheloris Degree in related field.
  • PHR/SPHR desired.
  • Eight plus years required in progressive HR leadership role/position.
  • Experience in government contracting industry or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Deltek/Costpoint experience desired.
  • Experience with ADP desired.

WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Office environment.
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
  • Ability to lift to 10 pounds.
