Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring an experienced Cytology Manager to work full time days in Cytology.

Job duty is to perform cytological technical preparation of specimens and evaluate gyn and non-gyn specimens for the presence of cancer or other pathological changes in compliance with departmental policy and procedure. Classifies the results according to established protocols, meets all regulatory requirements and complies with quality assurance policies.

Qualified candidates are required to have:

- Bachelor's Degree

- ASCP - CT Certification

Job Summary

Performs cytological technical preparation of specimens and evaluates gyn and non-gyn specimens for the presence of cancer or other pathological changes in compliance with departmental policy and procedure. Classifies the results according to established protocols, meets all regulatory requirements and complies with quality assurance policies.

Bachelors degree in a laboratory science and graduated from a school of Cytotechnology accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or other organization approved by HHS. Certified as a cytotechnologist by ASCP. Certification must remain current for continued employment.

Qualifications:

BLD - Bachelor's Level Degree: Cytotechnology (Required), BLD - Bachelor's Level Degree (Required), CER - Certificate (Required)

Cytologist (CT) - Certification - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
