Congressional Engagement Specialist

The Opportunity:

As a communications professional, you know how to inform and engage key audiences and help promote an organization's reputation. We're looking for an experienced communications specialist like you who is ready to share your knowledge and willing to win for the client and live our mission every day. Here you'll use your consulting skills and experience to design, develop, produce, and consult on a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that supports veterans' access to healthcare.

As a communications specialist on our team, you'll develop creative solutions to complex problems. Your self-guided yet collaborative spirit will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients to provide on-going executive leadership support for Congressional engagement, including hearings briefings, verbal and written testimony, QFRs, and presentations. You will also support congressional and other oversight body requirements and deliverables, including Requests for Information (RFIs), closure of recommendations, and recurring Congressionally Mandated Reports (CMR).

As the organizational advisor of all aspects of verbal and written communications, you'll support ad-hoc programmatic reporting requirements, reporting to VHA and OIT pillars outside of the PED and other programmatic reporting requirements. Your creative-thinking and business-oriented mindset will guide your client to inform key audiences through words, images, and sound with tools.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience working in a professional environment
  • Experience managing Health or Information Technology projects
  • Experience managing multiple editorial and writing projects concurrently, liaising with a range of stakeholders, and meeting deadlines
  • Experience using project management methodologies and editorial best practices such as AP Stylebook
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into plain language appropriate for non-experts
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, Systems, or Business

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience in the VA
  • Experience implementing Electronic Health Records
  • Experience with congressional engagement and deliverables, including congressionally mandated reporting

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
