As the Commissioning and Facility Assessment Engineer, here's the work you'll do:

  • Lead and support new building commissioning and existing building retro-commissioning projects and conducting facility condition and operational assessments of utility and life safety systems. This position reports to the Director of Energy and Sustainability Services and will interface daily with design and construction professionals as well as clients, trade contractors, and operations and maintenance staff.
  • Work with Project Manager to establish scopes, work plans and schedule; ensure communication to project staff and Department Directors.
  • Develop site-specific commissioning documentation.
  • Develop and submit LEED commissioning documentation.
  • Develop rough order of magnitude cost estimating related to building systems replacement and repair.
  • Ensure that programs are conducted within budget and on schedule.
  • Attend and actively participate in project coordination meetings.
  • Lead field commissioning coordination meetings.
  • Record and distribute commissioning coordination meeting minutes.
  • Review shop drawings and equipment submittals.
  • Develop, direct, and implement plans to improve and expand the organization's strategic market position performing vulnerability assessments for mission critical facilities.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
  • Ability to manage and lead commissioning project tasks. Develop, coordinate, and execute design, construction, testing/training, and warranty phase commissioning activities; final commissioning report and personnel under his/her direction.
  • Proven past performance and knowledge of engineering design and construction of utility and life safety systems serving mission critical facilities.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes client needs assessment, and evaluation of client satisfaction. Leadership skills to motivate or influence others.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Generalized knowledge of laws, codes, government regulations that affect the business and the market segment. Possess project-specific knowledge of the program's commissioning requirements as defined in project specifications and commissioning plan.
And if you have these qualifications:
  • Bachelors, Associate, or Technology Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years leading commissioning projects. 3+ years Mechanical and Electrical design experience preferred.
  • Certified Commissioning Provider, Certified Commissioning Authority, or other nationally recognized commissioning certification; LEED AP preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance; Top Secret security clearance (active TS clearance preferred).
  • Ability to travel. This position will require occasional travel to both domestic and international locations.

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $87,440 - $131,160. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
