Overview

Reporting to the Vice President, this role will involve working closely with the Loan Asset Management team in the diligence, closing, asset management and servicing of commercial and multifamily bridge loans in a fast-paced team environment.

A successful candidate must possess strong analytical skills, advanced Excel skills and a basic understanding or real estate finance, terminology and performance metrics. The candidate must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities
    Assist in the management of a diverse portfolio of real estate bridge loans:
    • Create and edit financial models that allow for the valuation of commercial real estate assets.
    • Analyze loan-level risk ratings on a quarterly basis.
    • Help prepare investment committee and board meetings presentations.
    • Conduct market research
  • Assist the Asset Management Team in the due diligence on each new loan:
    • Quickly gather information and become the expert on the market, property and borrower.
    • Review pro forma assumptions related to lease-up, OpEx, and CapEx.
    • Review all agreements (loan, leases, management, operating, and service contracts), identify and mitigate risks and concerns.
    • Engage and review third party reports (appraisals, PCA, ESA, insurance).
    • Update the underwriting model accordingly.
  • Responsible for weekly Asset Management meeting agenda focused on reporting cycle, critical dates, and ongoing team tasks.
  • Responsible for onboarding new loans with the loan servicers, repo lenders, and internal asset management software.
  • Support the Asset Management Team in their daily responsibilities.
  • Review and spread monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, maintain a regular dialog with borrower and monitor market dynamics.
  • Ensure borrower compliance with loan covenants, critical reporting dates and key provisions in the loan documents.
  • Review and make recommendations on borrower budgets, business plans, leasing and material contracts.
  • Review and make recommendations on loan draws and reserve disbursements, ensuring compliance with loan covenants.
  • Review of monthly loan waterfall payments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree; preferred field of study Accounting/Business/Finance/Real Estate
  • Minimum 1-3 years of real estate lending, acquisition, and/or management experience.
  • Knowledge of CRE loan documentation helpful.
  • Understanding of property financial operating statements for multiple property types.
  • Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skill, and a persistent pursuit of required information to bring individual issues to a timely closure.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team centered, results driven environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong financial modeling, written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Knowledge in following software: Argus, Excel, Word, Adobe, etc.
