Job Summary: The HSC Welder will weld repair castings, caps, and core plugs that have surface or internal defects, which makes the casting unacceptable to the customer.

Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain welding table and argon purification equipment.
  • Produce NDT quality welds using .045" to .125" diameter weld wire for multiple alloys (Ti-6-4, Ti-6-2-4-2, IN718 etc...)
  • Ability to mirror weld and produce NDT quality welds.
  • Review, maintain, and understand work instructions.
  • Measure, document and map welds.
  • Use and maintain the proper weld wire per alloy.
  • Perform necessary adjustments to the power source gauges. Hold argon CFH from 5-30 CFH. Welding 70 - 150 AMP maximum, except for ECY 768 (125-amp max)
  • Construct copper back-ups when necessary.
  • Record data either manually or by computer as required.
  • Must comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but is not limited to, regular attendance and occasional overtime.
, Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), must meet the requirements of Activity Instructions 4000.205 and/or AMS 2694, and must pass the following welders certification test: Repair weld certification to ASME Boiler & PV Code Sec. IX and/or AMS 2694.
  • This position requires a minimum of two to four years-related gas tungsten ARC welding (GTAW and TIG) experience and/or training.
  • Must be available for all shifts. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
