Valiant is seeking an individual to provide electrical engineering support as a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Fabrication Engineer for a USG customer in the Northern Virginia area. The support activities below are representative of the tasks the individual shall perform:

  • Serve as a focal point for PCB Design for manufacturing expertise and oversee operation and maintenance of related PCB fabrication equipment and processes.
  • Develop knowledge and expertise for Sponsor in house methods and procedures for the use of specified chemical and mechanical PCB manufacturing processes in the Sponsor's in-house PCB facility.
  • Manufacture PCB designs using the Sponsor's internal PCB fabrication processes (Institute for Printed Circuits: IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, J-STD-001, IPC-7711, IPC- 7721).
  • Respond to and complete engineering project service requests including but not limited to PCB/PWB (Printed Wiring Board), stencil, copper plating.
  • Assist Sponsor's users in layout of PCB designs of varying complexity.
  • Assist users with proper use and maintenance of fabrication process machines and tooling.
  • Assist users in creating tools (i.e. stencils) to facilitate assembling PCBs as necessary.
  • Document processes from point of decision in PCB design software through board completion.
  • Develop and implement training courses on all future and current PCB fabrication processes and equipment to enable Sponsor Engineer proficiency.
  • Continually research emerging manufacturing technologies and make recommendations for potential Customer implementation.
  • Maintain Sponsor's PCB fabrication machines, software, and supplies.
  • Administer the maintenance and repair program for the Sponsor's PCB equipment worldwide.
  • Maintain expendable stock levels sufficient for ongoing engineering service request projects at the Sponsor's CONUS facility and provide support to the maintenance of stock levels overseas as needed.
  • Provide field support (from WMA and TDY) as required.
  • Develop and document procedures to facilitate the manufacturing of PCBs with external Vendors.
  • Interface with external Vendors for technical support or purchasing.
  • Properly handle the receipt and disposal of HAZMAT/HAZWASTE according to Sponsor's requirements.
  • Maintain the PCB Lab and associated chemicals.
  • Keep skills and knowledge up to date and maintain IPC certifications.
  • Ad-hoc requirements may be associated with Sponsor/Mission Partners equipment/supplies/products in order to report and maintain operational readiness status.

  • A TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
  • CONUS and OCONUS TDY travel may be required.
