General Information:
Come be a part of the JMU Community and valuable member of the Facilities Management team! James Madison University is accepting applications for Temporary Summer Painters. These positions work up to 40 hours per week and start as early as April 29th and go through August 16, 2024. Shift is Monday - Thursday, 6:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Flexibility in total number of hours able to work may be considered.
Pay will be within indicated range and varies based upon applicant's experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Painting, primarily interior and some exterior surfaces, using brushes and rollers.
*Paint preparation, to include moving furniture, patching holes, removing marks and priming; clean-up.
*The majority of time is spent painting dorm rooms, some of which may not be air-conditioned.

*Have an ability to climb an eight foot extension ladder

Conditions of Employment:
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
This is a part-time wage position working up to an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
