Job Summary:

The Regulatory Affairs Coordinator is accountable for the administrative tasks in support of corporate compliance activities for Mary Washington Healthcare.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for triaging and tracking billing compliance audits and appeals and reporting trends involving audit and appeals data.
  • Educates department leadership and Physicians on outcomes and billing compliance opportunities.
  • Research's billing compliance issues using federal and state laws and regulations, as well as relevant Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS)policies.
  • Responds to compliance related questions.
  • Stays abreast of compliance issues as they apply to Mary Washington Healthcare and assists with the analysis and interpretation of regulations.
  • Completes Medicare and Medicaid enrollment revalidations and updates which may include maintaining administrative user access, assisting with other governmental payor applications as necessary.
  • Prepares and files Provider Based Attestations with CMS and other regulatory filings as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of one (2) years of healthcare experience required in compliance, insurance follow-up and appeals, or Medicare/Medicaid enrollment.
  • Experience navigating an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and complex projects effectively and accurately in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Must exhibit discretion in dealing with sensitive system and regulatory compliance information.
  • Must have highly developed verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to articulate complex topics and interact with all levels of management, medical staff, and associates.
  • Must be proficient in computer applications.
