Do you like applying geospatial tradecraft and developing Python code in direct support of the security of our Nation? Our team is looking to for a Geospatial Programmer to develop and maintain a geospatial application.

Project: We support a US Government office who has tasked us with processing Geospatial information and developing custom code to enhance situational awareness and support planning. We've been assisting them in this capacity for several years, augmenting our tools and methodologies to accommodate a continually growing corpus of data.

Day-to-day with your colleagues:

  • Developing custom code, scripts, modules, macro procedures, libraries, and dynamically linked libraries for geospatial analysis functions using Python to augment and analyze data
  • Providing ad hoc support for writing scripts in Python and other coding languages to help automate geoprocessing of large datasets in response to analysts' needs. Instructing and assisting analysts in writing custom code and scripts as needed.
  • Leveraging available computing resources to handle very large geospatial datasets, creating efficiencies in data management including data deduplication and reduction, streamlining geospatial data processing, and scaling processes from regional to global

Minimum Requirements:

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph+
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, geography or related technical field (relevant experience may be substituted for degree)
  • Ability to develop workflows, scripts, utilities, and applications using Python and Angular
  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL highly preferred)
  • Basic understanding of GIS concepts
  • Willingness to work full-time (Monday-Friday) on customer site

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience using Git and Jira for managing a software project
  • Experience with Esri's ArcGIS Server architecture is a welcome addition
  • Experience using Python with spatial data and Django
  • Knowledge of best practices for data standards, data management, data quality

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate's unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$107,000.00 - $180,000.00 annually.
