We are a professional services firm that provides third-party retirement plan administration services for companies that sponsor Employee Stock Ownership (ESOPs) and 401(k) Plans. Our offices are located in Charlottesville, VA, Columbia, MD, Columbus, OH, Westchester, IL and Pasadena, CA, although our client base is nationwide. We are one of the top 2 companies that provide ESOP recordkeeping and administration services in the country, and we continue to grow our retirement services business (401(k), DB, CB, etc). We are seeking sharp, detail-oriented, dedicated individuals to join our team.

Accountant

We are hiring due to company growth!
As an Accountant, you will be hands-on in the accounting department working on a variety of accounting tasks. You’ll be joining a fast-paced, growing company that values your input and extra effort in this newly created role. This position reports to the Controller.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • CPA and other certifications a plus
  • At least 2 years of experience with accrual accounting (GAAP) & ASC 606
  • Experience using multiple systems to extract and manipulate data is a plus
  • Proficient in the Microsoft office suite; advanced Excel skills are required
  • Experience in Sage Intacct financial accounting software, Salesforce and/or Pension Pro is a plus
  • Must have strong problem solving, analytical, multitasking and organizational skills
The Role:
With the help of the team, you will work in all aspects of full-cycle accounting (accounts payable, invoicing, accounts receivable, etc.). This position has a heavy data transactional focus. You will work with data from different systems, utilizing excel to prepare and import invoices and adjusting journal entries as required to produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards. You will evaluate current accounting practices and make process improvement recommendations and assist in providing documents for our annual financial audit. You will also assist in accounting conversions for newly acquired firms and be part of the monthly financial statement review process.
