Job Description

Position Summary:

The Director draws on experience and knowledge of security assistance marketspace to grow new business. The Director is matrixed into Vice President, Security Assistance position, and will lead entirety of new business growth efforts for Security Assistance division. This individual will lead pursuits, in which s/he is responsible for delivery of full life cycle of business development activities, including capture planning, strategy, and development of differentiators and value propositions. The Director will operate possess an understanding of the interplay and terrain of customers, competitors, and new business opportunities for CRDF Global in such areas as cybersecurity, counterterrorism and law enforcement, or global training and advisory mission support services. The Director is also responsible for marketing CRDF capabilities related to assigned pursuits.

Drawing on understanding of the larger market and CRDF Global's current and potential capabilities, the Director identifies and develops new customer relationships and supports growth and expansion of existing customer accounts.

Major Responsibilities:

  • In close collaboration with Security Assistance VP and CGO, the Director will work to execute Security Assistance growth strategy.
  • Develop a pipeline of qualified opportunities for Security Assistance division and win new business
  • Develop customer relationships, including through call plans, partnership with operations,colleagues, and follow-up.
  • Develop or support development of customer account plans to include customer preferences, competitive analysis and incumbent strengths and weaknesses.
  • Lead capture and proposal efforts to secure new or support re-compete business opportunities as assigned. Employ technical skill in the pursuit and bid of assigned opportunities.
    • Lead and integrate an assigned cross-functional pursuit team
    • Develop capture strategy, competitive assessments and competitor analysis, capture plan, teaming, and price-to-win
    • Execute win strategies through leading capture efforts, effective teaming, staffing and pricing strategies.
    • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, help CRDF Global develop compelling marketing materials with focus on unique selling propositions and differentiators for individual pursuits
    • Develop and manage capture budget; plan resources and schedules for capture and proposal plans; and develop proposals including reviews and submission
    • Develop and execute contact plans, including detailed reports for follow-up activities.
    • Meet with customers, competitors, and partners to develop insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices, in order to develop win strategies for assigned opportunities
    • Coordinate timely production and submission of concept papers, white papers, unsolicited proposals, and related correspondence to customers.
    • Draft, edit and synthesize proposal content, ensuring appropriate linkages among programmatic approaches, performance monitoring plan, staffing, management, capacity and past performance statements, and work plans.
    • Incorporate compelling win strategies in proposal narratives, pricing, and other elements. Draw on market and competitor analysis plus thorough knowledge of CRDF Global capabilities and experience.
    • Create and deliver presentations for CRDF Global gate reviews
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on customer market and creative trends, and ensure timely follow up
  • Conduct after action reviews for business opportunity capture participants to document lessons learned and identify necessary adjustments to capture technique, strategy, and actions
  • Record and track contacts, leads, and opportunities in Salesforce

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience in business development and contract negotiations with an understanding of the process (Request for Information, Request for Proposals, etc.) to capture grant and contract vehicles
  • Bachelor's degree is required, in Business or related area
  • Track record of success in business development related to federal acquisition of professional support services with DOS, DOD, or DOE agencies.
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Familiarity and experience with U.S. government RFP websites and grant management systems, including FBO, grants.gov, and others.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt quickly to new challenges, ability to take initiative and work independently with strong organization and time management skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and analysis, planning, and problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work under the pressure of deadlines.
  • Excellent and effective written and oral communications skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of individuals from varied backgrounds at all levels within their organizations
  • Ability to prepare and report through concise Powerpoint presentations
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • U.S. work authorization is required

Salary & Benefits: The base pay range for this position is $150,000 to $199,200. The determination of salaries in this job classification depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant candidate experience, job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills. In addition, we have a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance; 403(b) retirement savings plan; unlimited paid time off; education reimbursement; student loan paydown and an in-network deductible reimbursement through the Difference Card that pays up to $10,000 depending on level of coverage.
