Job Identification

Statement of Purpose

Responsible for the management of NIB's Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) program including planning, communications, program governance, project stewardship, documentation management, education and training, and program coordination. Will be responsible for the management of multiple complex projects.

Education

Bachelor's degree required from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be acceptable.

Training and Specialized Knowledge

  • Yellow Belt certified required. Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Master Black Belt certified preferred.
  • Understanding of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001: 2015 Requirements (TPECS), certification preferred.
  • Demonstration of experience in continuous improvement programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.
  • Organizational change management.
  • Influence management.
  • Technical and functional business writing.
  • Microsoft: Project, Visio, Office, and Minitab or Excel Data Analysis Tool (or similar tool).

Experience

Six (6) plus years of relevant business experience, demonstrated Lean Six Sigma and continuous process improvement experience, strong project management experience.

Travel

  • Minimal - 5 percent travel.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Continuous Process Improvement

  • Facilitate CPI orientated process improvement meetings with organization stakeholders.
  • Council, advise, and coordinate activities between CPI program governance bodies.
  • Coordinate and attend Executive Steering Committee (ESC), Business Process Operations Council (BPOC), and System Change Review Board (SCRB) meetings.
  • Manage CPI project portfolio, provide regular communications on status, and resolve/elevate delays.
  • Deliver CPI training to NIB or NPA employees by providing training programs in coordination with NIB's Learning and Development Department. Examples of training include new employee orientation, ISO 9001:2015 & CPI project orientation, lean six sigma Yellow Belt training and lean six sigma tool training.
  • Responsible for coordinating staff Lean Six Sigma Green and Black Belt training before an identified project becomes active. Coach candidates during project work, monitor and ensure full certification.
  • Provide quality tools and approaches to be used by the organization and Nonprofit Agencies (NPAs).
  • Assist stakeholders on the CPI project flow (e.g., business case development, submission, scoring, active project associated work).
  • Coach and mentor CPI teams.
    • Host pre-team meetings to assess team leader readiness.
    • Provide phase facilitation.
    • Review team data collection and analysis.
    • Participate in phase tollgate reviews.
  • Member of the Data Governance Office for reviewing data associated with new systems/technical projects.
  • Create, revise, coordinate, and maintain CPI program documentation to include the CPI Program Guide.
  • Provide project reports and metrics to program governance stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Manage and drive organizational change towards a Lean Six Sigma culture.
  • Provide regular CPI program updates via NIB Intranet communication.
  • Other non-CPI related project support as required.
