Job Description

TSC's Innovation & Product Cell (IPC) is currently seeking a Senior Principal Seeker Engineer in Huntsville, AL, with an educational and/or industry focus in the requirements development, analysis, and product life cycle implementation for real-time Active Decoy Payloads, Seekers, and Radar Systems.

Responsibilities:

This position requires a flexible individual with experience in new product development. TSC's IPC team is chartered with developing new products by leveraging technology across TSC. This team is responsible for rapid development, demonstration, and initial product rollout. This position requires an individual familiar with all phases of product development and deployment to include changing requirements, hardware, software, and mechanical integration dependencies, field testing, and configuration management. The individual in this position needs to develop implementable requirements from various sources at different levels of maturity and definition, to enable product development teams.

  • Systems analysis in support of requirements development and verification
  • Requirements decomposition across subsystems
  • Support subsystem and system test planning
  • Support all phases of detailed system and subsystem development activities for embedded applications, including upfront analysis, prototyping, end item development and evaluation in laboratory and field test environments.
  • Lead a multi-discipline team of systems, hardware, mechanical, software, and firmware engineers to build complete solutions and products.
  • Analysis of measured data from laboratory and/or field testing.Comparison of expected performance or truth data to actual measured performance
  • Lead by example to enforce RF & systems engineering process and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team locally and across physical locations.
  • Work with product owners to build technical roadmaps and corresponding requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS Degree and minimum of 16 years of experience in industry
  • Recognized Seeker & Radar Specialist with technical insight in multiple related RF & signal processing fields.
  • Able to lead complex state of the art radar & seeker development programs from concept to production readiness.
  • Able to serve as a consultant to business development in planning projected areas of research and development.
  • Has a track record of attracting/obtaining major new business through cooperative development programs.
  • Experience with the following areas is required:
    • Iterative development
    • Requirements development, validation, and verification in Radar & EW applications
    • RF & Systems analysis skills using scripting language tools (i.e., MATLAB, Python, Mathcad, etc.)
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and subject matter expertise.
  • Possess excellent organizational and communications skills.
  • Able to prioritize work and maximize productivity.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS DoD Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS Degree & 14 + years or PhD & 10+ years relevant experience
  • Significant subject matter expertise in Signal Processing algorithms, (e.g., FFT, FIR filters, Matched filters, Correlators) and RADAR, Seekers, and/or electronic warfare product development
  • Experience developing requirements from undefined customer needs.
  • Requirements management through Jira or similar tools
