Minimum Qualifications Summary
Certification & Education
  • Bachelor's in Business Management, Public Policy or Immigration-related field.
Experience Required
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
Job Objective
Provide Program Operations Support to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP). Technical Writers/Editors shall include developing and preparing written material, such as scripts, stories, and other content or material. Editing will include the planning, coordinating, or editing content or material for publication and the review of content for possible publication
Responsibilities
Technical Writing and Editing Support
  • Research, review and comment on assigned SEVP and ICE policy documents and directives, such as regulations, statutes and official guidance as it relates to SEVP policy and regulation and maintain these records in accordance with record management principles.
  • Research, draft, edit and/or review reports or other working documents.
  • Coordinate the production review of Federal regulations, SEVP policy guidance, and other working documents on complex immigration issues to support Federal efforts.
  • Review published SEVP policy and regulatory materials for relevancy to new products to make recommendations.
3Policy Analysis and Project Support
  • Research existing internal and external resources to provide support for program inquiries, tasks, priority projects, policy guidance, and regulatory actions.
  • Compile, track, and analyze data using spreadsheets and other tools in support of complex immigration-related projects and priorities and make recommendations to SEVP staff and leadership based on that analysis.
  • Present recommendations and results of research to facilitate decision-making and resolution of complex inquiries.
  • For project maintenance and evaluation, monitor trends and analyze outcomes of various policy products and decisions, and report findings.
Education & Certification
  • Associates Required
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science preferred
