Senior Manager I, Zero Waste Management (One Year Only)

Description

Plans, manages, and coordinates Zero Waste Plan (recycle, reduce, reuse) activities and personnel supporting waste reduction and diversion programs across all departments and schools; performs analytical and technical work in the evaluation and reporting, research and policy development, and data management related to zero waste program areas; exercises leadership to design, create, implement, assess, and revise programs and activities of the office.

Qualifications

Required

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, sustainability, public administration, business administration, biology, or a field related to zero waste (including but not limited to environmental studies, economics, or geography).
  • Six (6) years of progressively more responsible experience in planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating environmental programs, some of which shall have been in the specialty area of zero waste in a leadership capacity.
    • Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
  • Knowledge of theories, procedures, practices, materials, and methods of refuse and recycling operations.
  • Knowledge of zero waste concepts with the ability to develop strategies to achieve zero waste.
  • Knowledge of applicable local, state, and county regulations, laws, and policies.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to develop training material, deliver presentations to diverse audiences, and teach adult learners.
  • Ability to effectively lead teams in multiple projects.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school staff, families, community members, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
  • LEED or sustainability certification(s)
  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved certification(s)
  • Facilities Management Professional (FMP) certification
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) certification

$88,104 - $149,924
